Our local pub had a beer & cider festival this weekend. Old Rosie cider 7.3% abv was my favourite.

- Cappuccino of mushroom
- Smoked salmon and avocado mousse with horseradish mayo
- Pimms sorbet
- Quail wrapped with prosciutto and stuffed with prune, apple and wild rice, served with parmasan parsnips on a potatoe rossti,
- Chocolate custard on a chocolate sponge topped with home made orange jelly with cointreau oranges.
Everyone mouthful was delicious. If I could cook just one of those courses... I would be so proud.
Security camera. Had great fun taking a picture of this as it is a highly secure building. I spent the rest of the day wondering if 'they' would come to arrest me!

Another day another book... I read A LOT !
1. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren
2. It took 6 years to build from 1671- 1677
3. It is 202 feet high
It has recently been renovated and looks wonderful. One day I might climb to the top!

There is a little girl in England that very nearly didn't get sent a birthday present today !!! I became rather attached too the pink sparkly bow! (Thanks Hayley for helping with the photo.) (Yes mum - I pressed the button).

For the first time since starting this blog, I forgot to take my camera with me this morning. Panic. Anyhow all was well, when I got home this evening the sun was still shining and this candle and tea light holders were catching the last rays.

The colour of this bottle brush flower hasn't really been done justice by this photo.

Tea is my favourite drink. And this is my favourite mug to drink it from.
The Fan to cool you when the heating is on, the pen for the sudoku, the bottle of water, the hand sanitizer, the hair brush and mirror all declined to be photographed.

One of the 5 anchors from the HMS Sirius at the Australian Maritime Museum, Sydney. Sirius was the flagship of the first fleet of convict transports to East Australia and was captained by Arthur Phillip - the penal settlements first Governor. During her life she circumvented the world until she was blown onto a reef and wrecked. Her untimely demise, left the fledgling colony with very little contact with the outside world: she had been the main supply ship traveling regularly, to and from South Africa, London and China.
A real cop-out today, this is a photo of the TV screen! It was the Great North Run today, I always love those pictures of the 'masses' all running. I wondered what a picture from the TV would look like, well here it is.

Look what was above the clouds at Uluru...

Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii, as you may be able to tell I have been on a course today, at Beth Chatto's garden, about how to name plants. What would appear to be yellow petals are in fact a sort of leaf, the flowers (and there are hundreds of them, all really small) are the darker centres.

Iconic Australia, Iconic London, Tower Bridge with HMS Belfast on the river Thames. Not sure what the other battleship was doing there, perhaps just visiting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREA. WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!
My first post ... I've been looking forward to this for months.
I thought I'd start with a photo of just some of the lovely presents that I was given for my birthday. I opened them on the balcony of our hotel room over looking Uluru with a glass of champagne in hand.
'Somewhere over the rainbow'
I am so glad Andrea has joined this blog, I was getting lonely.
