London on full visible alert today, the fifth anniversary of the 7/7 bombings. So here's to all the Rescue Services, the Doctors and Nurses who dealt with the injured, the passers by that helped and most importantly the People who lost their lives or were injured on that terrible Thursday. It was an odd day for those of us working in London, first a report, around 9 a.m. of a train crash at Aldgate and then as the next hour unfolded it was obvious that bombs had gone off at various places all over London. The police told everyone to stay at work as transport systems stopped but by 3 p.m. there was a slow trail of everyone walking, mainly in silence, to their mainline stations. We were then filtered into the station, every so often someone being stopped and searched. It took me several hours to get home that day and the next day London was closed. I have been in London on several occasions when bombs have gone off, but you carry on with your life and roll the dice once more!Wednesday 7 July 2010
