PHOTOS FOR US

A Mother and Daughter live on opposite sides of the earth. Both will celebrate a milestone age in their life during 2010. This blog will be their story for the next year, photographs of what they see, feel, love or hate.

These are their lives...

Friday 1 April 2011

What's this I wonder ???

April Fool! Taken from our village magazine. I wonder how many people will be jumping.

Thursday 31 March 2011

Our first card.
I know the chickens featured only a few days ago but today was really windy and they sort of got blown around the garden. I think the sight of a chicken running is one of the funniest things.

Wednesday 30 March 2011

My man picked the rocket out the spinach and rocket salad this evening. He dosn't like the spinach!

I love Joanne Harris as a writer, I have read all her books. This is her latest that arrived in the post this morning. Think I shall save it to read on holiday as I already have a huge pile to read on the train.

Tuesday 29 March 2011

The wrapping from the box looks like a turtle!

Funny mist in the field at the back of us this morning, it sat in the trees (apple) for ages and then rolled towards us as the sun tired to make an appearance.

Monday 28 March 2011

Went looking for venues for the Christmas Party today. This place was amazing.

One of my favorite things. I love my DS Lite.

Sunday 27 March 2011

Smile : )

We let the chickens out in the garden today, first thing they did was have a really nice 'huddly' dust bath. Funny things.

Saturday 26 March 2011

This is a placemat we have - yes I left this photo to the last minute and wasn't feeling too inspired this evening...maybe with all the excitement.

Excellent news from Australia caused a popping of corks in the UK!

Friday 25 March 2011

Problem with cleaning out the lining cupboard - is that you have to put it all back again ! Holly would have liked this.

Once you find a comfy pair of shoes buy them in all colours!

Thursday 24 March 2011

Cleaned out the lining cupboard this evening... We have a lot!

Our next door neighbours drive is a sea of daffodils at this time of year.

Wednesday 23 March 2011

This is in recognition of all your hard work... a very big well done - you know who you are !

Heron Tower in Bishopsgate, one of many new and tall buildings that have recently sprung up in the City.

Bye bye Airlie Beach ... until next time.

Perfume bottles, some are empty but too nice to throw away!

Sunday 20 March 2011

Amazing clouds around the moon tonight in the Whitsundays.

5 generations here. Good to know where you come from.

Saturday 19 March 2011

Went to the Great Barrier Reef this weekend. Dive was a bit random, but the snorkelling awesome.

Tonight the moon was the closest it has been to the earth since 1991. It was HUGE as it rose before dark. Look at my note on 7 March, shows how much I know!

Friday 18 March 2011

A bit of blighty today.

Baa Baa ahh! Lambs in spring so so cute!

Thursday 17 March 2011

Another purple flower today. This one is in our back garden. It's lovely until the blossoms fall on your white sheets and leave a yellow stain!.

Misty/Cloudy day today, this is the watery sun this afternoon

Wednesday 16 March 2011

There has been some UK orchid action recently on here... I thought I'd show you the ozzies can do it as well.

Meet Finsbury and Merlin, members of the British Transport Police Explosive Search Dogs section. Keeping London a safer place. Apparently the dog section is the oldest and largest in the country, they have 60 dogs, most of which are rescued from sad or abusive backgrounds. They live at home with their handlers and families. Nice work guys!

Tuesday 15 March 2011

My friend is coming tomorrow night for dinner. I'm going to cook her this.

I travelled home with Lisa this evening, not seen her for ages, she told me she is running in the London Marathon next month to raise awareness and funds for the MSA Trust. MSA is a debilitating disease that her father has. I asked her to let me know her sponsorship site, here it is! Good luck Lisa. x

Monday 14 March 2011

This is the pattern on a bowl that belonged to my nan.
Staff meeting this morning, cakes provided a challenge, it was Lent!

Sunday 13 March 2011

Mt Gravatt bus station. Brissie has a dedicated bus-way which operates on time, regularly and actually has stops in places where you want them ! Good work Brisbane City Council.
Not often featured, Holly, doing what Holly does best, sleeping on the bed!

Saturday 12 March 2011

St Patrick's Day parade in BNE today. Lots of people in green - although pictured here is an army brass band.

Bluebells, I planted these last year, not sure if they would re appear, but they have.

Friday 11 March 2011

It's my mans birthday. I thought the front card was amusing and true!

Remember Saturday 8 January and the muppet that demolished our hedge. Here is our new hedge, ditch also sorted. It will look lovely in a couple of years.

Thursday 10 March 2011

My keys. Always keep your house keys and car keys separate... why ? because my Mum says.

I bought these boots many years ago, they have walked with me for miles and made sure my feet have never been cold or wet. However, last week I walked through a puddle and had a wet sock for hours. Sorry boots, I love you, but you have to go. R.I.P.

Wednesday 9 March 2011

These are my headlights on the garage wall.

I love it when friends go on holiday and bring you back delicious presents!

Tuesday 8 March 2011

Hello Lady Butterfly, or are you a Mr Moth? Either way, you're very pretty. I would have loved to have stayed home today so that you could continue sleeping in on our front door, undisturbed - but we have things called bills to pay. Sorry !

Another day, another orchid! All the orchids I have taken pictures of I have brought to flower, not one 'shop' bought
