PHOTOS FOR US

A Mother and Daughter live on opposite sides of the earth. Both will celebrate a milestone age in their life during 2010. This blog will be their story for the next year, photographs of what they see, feel, love or hate.

These are their lives...

Wednesday 30 June 2010

So this is the new London Cycle Line, sponsored by Barclays Bank. For £1 for the first hour you can ride into and around London on a hired bike. The bikes are not installed yet. The guys at the end in high viz jackets were all working on the machine where you pay. Just what London needs...more Meglamaniac Cyclists who think they own the road!

This is the bus stop that I wait at every evening coming home from work. Just outside London Bridge station there are many routes. When they all turn up at once its chaos!

Monday 28 June 2010

This is a wonderful 'art installation' under a railway bridge near where is work. Most of the time the lights are multi coloured but once every half hour they change to any colour and not necessarily one of the colurs of when they are multi coloured. They look wonderful when it's dark. At half past two this afternoon they were red. I will post a 'multi coloured' picture some other day.

If Gus does not get the attention he feels he deserves, he does something 'different', sitting on top of the kitchen cupboards is one of them. Bless!

Saturday 26 June 2010

Lulu, 8 month old puppy belonging to friends John & Pat. It was hot today and she found if she laid flat, really flat, the grass would cool her. Nice doggy!

I wish I could take a picture of the wonderful fragrance of these Petunias

Thursday 24 June 2010

We have a large garden and various parts need watering, this is our hosepipe.....it's really about four hosepipes all linked together.

Wednesday 23 June 2010

This afternoon I visited Whitechapel Bell Foundry. I now know all about bell making. Amazing, so much history. The Foundry was 'established' in 1570. They had some bells in for 'repair' that they had made 400 years ago.

Foxgloves in my garden...I think my favourite flower

Monday 21 June 2010

Swans at Mistley.....Mistley is a small village on the river Stour, near to where I live, the Swans have always been there and manged to survive. In the past few years a local 'swan lover' comes to feed the Swans each day....so now the population of Swans has increased so much that they have become a nuisance. The greensward on the river bank is covered in Swan poo, there are feathers EVERYWHERE and the Swans now have no fear of people or cars and sit in the road blocking traffic. When it rains and the road floods (presumably the drain is blocked with feathers) they swim in the road. I love birds, I love all wildlife (except snails & slugs) but this is unfair to the Swans who now expect food every day. This is the end of my first rant on this blog.....I feel so much better now!

Sunday 20 June 2010

It was a lovely sunny evening and the sun light was just falling across the long grass in the field next to our garden.

Village called Cartmel in the Lake District. They decorate sheep, and put them around their village, you can go on a sheep hunt, buy calenders with pictures of the sheep etc. The sheep are then auctioned to raise funds for rescue services in the area. This sheep was outside the Mallard Cafe, therefore painted in the colours of a Mallard Duck.

Gus, brother to Holly, the nicest Cat I have ever had the privilege to know. His eyes can see into your soul. He wants you to know that he and Holly designed the chair themselves.
