So this is the new London Cycle Line, sponsored by Barclays Bank. For £1 for the first hour you can ride into and around London on a hired bike. The bikes are not installed yet. The guys at the end in high viz jackets were all working on the machine where you pay. Just what London needs...more Meglamaniac Cyclists who think they own the road!Wednesday 30 June 2010

This is a wonderful 'art installation' under a railway bridge near where is work. Most of the time the lights are multi coloured but once every half hour they change to any colour and not necessarily one of the colurs of when they are multi coloured. They look wonderful when it's dark. At half past two this afternoon they were red. I will post a 'multi coloured' picture some other day.Sunday 27 June 2010

Swans at Mistley.....Mistley is a small village on the river Stour, near to where I live, the Swans have always been there and manged to survive. In the past few years a local 'swan lover' comes to feed the Swans each day....so now the population of Swans has increased so much that they have become a nuisance. The greensward on the river bank is covered in Swan poo, there are feathers EVERYWHERE and the Swans now have no fear of people or cars and sit in the road blocking traffic. When it rains and the road floods (presumably the drain is blocked with feathers) they swim in the road. I love birds, I love all wildlife (except snails & slugs) but this is unfair to the Swans who now expect food every day. This is the end of my first rant on this blog.....I feel so much better now!

Village called Cartmel in the Lake District. They decorate sheep, and put them around their village, you can go on a sheep hunt, buy calenders with pictures of the sheep etc. The sheep are then auctioned to raise funds for rescue services in the area. This sheep was outside the Mallard Cafe, therefore painted in the colours of a Mallard Duck.
